Bruno Guigas
Dr. Bruno Guigas is a molecular biologist with a broad expertise in the pathophysiology of metabolic disorders. His research group at the Leiden University Medical Center (The Netherlands) is driving projects within the field of immunometabolism aiming to identify new druggable molecules and/or molecular targets involved in the immune regulation of metabolic homeostasis in the context of obesity, NAFLD/NASH and type 2 diabetes. He is also actively involved in several international collaborations on multidisciplinary projects dealing with AMPK and metabolic disorders. He has co-authored >110 publications and is serving as external reviewer for multiple journals and national/EU funding agencies. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Valbiotis, a biotech developing innovative plant-derived molecules for preventing metabolic syndrome.
